SOFT R&B AND JAZZY FOLK-POP
Paha Juuso Agency is happy to announce two additions in its roster. Janita is one of the best-known Finnish R&B singers. She's been livin in New York for quite some time now, but is back for her lates album "Haunted". We'll be proud to present Janita on European gigs in spring/summer 2010. Another addition is Korpi Ensemble, a 6-piece jazzy pop band with some folk flavour, too. Korpi Ensemble will release their 3rd album around April 2010 and we'll be happy to see them play liveon festivals next year.

MAY 12 2009:
MORE SOUL MUSIC FROM US
We're proud to announce that Paha Juuso Agency is now representing Janna, a young female soul singer from Helsinki. She has released two albums, both of them produced by Tuomo and guitarist Aki Haarala. This latest addition in Paha Juuso's roster makes the agency even stronger in Finnish soul/R&B scene.

PAHA JUUSO AGENCY SITTING IN THE ROUND TABLE
We're proud to announce that mr. Juha Paaso will be one of the professionals invited in the round table to discuss Finnish music export strategies for 2010-2011. Mr. Paaso was selected by Teosto, the Finnish Composers' Copyright Society.

APR 28 2009:
NEW ARTISTS IN PAHA JUUSO AGENCY ROSTER
For some months now, Paha Juuso Agency has been representing two new artists: Osmo Ikonen and Set'Akat. Osmo is a multi-talented singer-songwriter, whose music is drifting somewhere between pop, soul and R&B. Osmo released his debut album in May 2008 and is preparing his 2nd album due to be released in fall. Set'Akat, on the other hand, are a female vocal trio from Carelian region on Finnish-Russian border. The trio is formed by Värttinä founding-members sisters Sari and Mari Kaasinen with Karoliina Kantelinen. Set'Akat perform a cappella and with kanteles - the Finnish national instruments.

MAR 10 2008:
TUOMO WON EMMA
Soul singer Tuomo won Finnish Emma price for his debut album "My Thing". The album was nominated in hiphop/dance/r&b category.

FEB 19 2008:
NEW ARTISTS FOR PAHA JUUSO AGENCY
We just started to work with a great afrofunk orchestra called Rhythm Funk Masters. Your next chance to see them play live is to visit Virgin Oil in Helsinki on March 22nd. Tuomo will be the headliner. On top of Rhythm Funk Masters, there are also other negotiations going on and we will probably announce some new artists next week.

FEB 10 2008:
TUOMO WINNING AWARDS EVERYWHERE
Tuomo has been recognized several times during these last weeks. First he won Rytmi-Femma Award, then The Album of the Year by The Funk Awards, then German JazzThing magazine voted "My Thing" as #4 in Top albums of 2007. Also Gilles Peterson seems to have chosen Tuomo's "My Thing" as the album of the year. Great work from Tuomo, indeed! The album will soon reach the sales of 15.000 copies in Finland, which means "Gold". We aleady have some champagne in the fridge...

FEB 1 2008:
TUOMO TO WARM-UP THE TEMPTATIONS
Highly acclaimed soul singer-songwriter Tuomo will perform at Baltic Soul Weekender in Weissenhäuser Strand, Germany on April 26th. He will perform on the main stage at 8pm giving warm-up for the one and only The Temptations!

JAN 20 2008:
TUOMO NOMINATED FOR EMMA AND FEMMA
Soulful singer-songwriter Tuomo has been nominated for Finnish music industry's "Emma" Award in two categories: Male artist of the year and the Hiphop/Dance/R&B album of the year. We all congratulate Tuomo of course and are waiting for the Emma Gala night on March 8th.

Tuomo has been nominated also for "Femma" award, the UG version of "Emma". The category he's in is called RYTMIFEMMA - The Rhythm Femma that is. Femma Awards will be held on Saturday Jan 26th in Nosturi, Helsinki.

JAN 17 2008:
PAHA JUUSO AGENCY GAINING WORK-FORCE
Paha Juuso Agency will have a brand new employee starting next Monday. Mr. Jukka Ranta will join in as a production assistant trainee. Jukka's training period will last 6 months until end of July 2008. He's studying at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.

NOV 4 2007:
BRATISLAVA WORLD MUSIC FEST HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Värttinä was supposed to perform at Bratislava World Music Festival this Friday November 9th, but due to unknown reasons, the whole festival has been cancelled. That means an off-day for Värttinä on their way to Gent in Belgium. Band will perform in Handelsbeurs on Saturday Nov 10th.

OCT 31 2007:
VÄRTTINÄ START THEIR TWOWEEK EUROPEAN TOUR
Värttinä flew to Oslo, Norway today to play at the highly acclaimed Oslo World Music Festival. From Oslo the band continues to Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia and Belgium. See exact dates either on band's page here or at Official www.varttina.com.

OCT 30 2007:
TUOMO'S WARM-UP FOR THE FUNK BROTHERS CANCELLED
The legendary Funk Brothers band was supposed to perform at Helsinki Kulttuuritalo on November 8th 2007, but unfortunatelly the band just cancelled the concert. That means that no Tuomo's concert that day either. Sorry folks.

OCT 1 2007:
DALINDEO'S FIRST APPEARENCE IN AUSTRIA
This week the club-jazz sextet Dalindeo will play their first gig in Austria. On Saturday October 6th the band performs at Kulturverein Reigen in Vienna. Please check out ticket prices, schedule etc. at www.reigen.at.

SEP 22 2007:
PAHA JUUSO RETURNED FROM POPKOMM
Once again the annual music-business fair Popkomm was held in Berlin. Paha Juuso Agency was represented and some nice new connections were made. Thank you everybody! This time there were no showcases from Paha Juuso Agency, but the next fair in Tampere, Finland called Music & Media will have two: Tuomo and Marko Haavisto & Poutahaukat.

AUG 25 2007:
VÄRTTINÄ SINGERS AND JANNE LAPPALAINEN TO SWITZERLAND
Today the three female singers of Värttinä and the bouzouki player Janne Lappalainen fly to Switzerland. They attend the variety-show tour with super popular Swiss comedy couple Ursus and Nadeschkin. After 6 weeks and 31 shows the Värttinä members will know pretty much everything about Switzerland, and pretty much everybody in Switzerland will know them...

AUG 15 2007:
TUOMO GOES JAPAN
Tuomo did a 4-day-excursion to Japan for interviews and radio-lives. Tuomo's album has already sold thousands of copies in Japan and the single "Don't take it too hard" is currently at #5 on J-Wave's Tokyo Hot 100 Chart. The first live concerts in Japan will follow later this year.
